Founder’s Story

Glover Gardens LLC was founded by Hajjah Glover, a proud West Philadelphia native with a deep connection to community, land, and growing food. What began as a personal passion became a purpose-driven mission: to help people across Philadelphia grow food at home and feel empowered through gardening—while staying rooted in the community that raised her.

Hajjah created Glover Gardens to make gardening more accessible through custom garden bed builds, materials, seasonal support, and hands-on education that meets each grower where they are. From in-ground setups to elevated beds, Glover Gardens helps residents build gardens that fit their space, lifestyle, and goals—whether they’re planting for the first time or returning to growing after years away.

At the heart of this work is connection. Hajjah believes gardening is more than planting—it’s a way to reconnect with the land, strengthen neighborhoods, and pass down wisdom across generations. Glover Gardens proudly serves families, elders, and people with disabilities throughout Philadelphia, with a special focus on creating opportunities for residents in West Philly and surrounding communities to grow and thrive.

With over 200 garden beds built and installed, Hajjah continues to lead with intention and care—honoring the legacy of Black growers and building a future where more Philadelphia residents can grow fresh food, share resources, and feel supported every step of the way.
